Best Time to Visit
Tarangire National Park
Discover the Ideal Season for Your
Tarangire National Park Safari
Tarangire’s wildlife viewing is fantastic year-round, but the best time to visit depends on your goals! Here’s what to expect:
Dry Season (July-October)
Peak wildlife viewing! Animals, particularly massive elephant herds, gather around the Tarangire River as other water sources dry up. Expect larger crowds during this time.
Wet Season (November-May)
Discover a different Tarangire. Witness lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and diverse birdlife. Wildlife disperses more widely, making sightings less concentrated but still possible.
Focus on Elephants
Tarangire is famed for its elephant herds! Dry season offers the easiest viewing, though you’ll find them even during wetter months.
Tsetse Flies
While wildlife is excellent any time, tsetse flies can be bothersome during the wet season (particularly March-May).
