Tsavo National Park

Tsavo National Park Safaris

Discover the Untamed
Wilderness of Tsavo

Embark on an adventure through Tsavo National Park, Kenya’s largest and most diverse wilderness area. Spanning over 22,000 square kilometers, Tsavo is a vast landscape divided into Tsavo East and Tsavo West, each offering unique safari experiences. Located less than 100 kilometers from Mombasa, Tsavo is easily accessible from Kenya’s beaches, making it a convenient destination. However, its proximity to the coast means it is often frequented by holiday package tourists and may not be ideal for those seeking a more remote Kenyan safari experience.

Despite this, a Tsavo safari offers dramatic scenery and notable geographical features, including the Lugard Falls and Mzima Springs. On daily game drives, you are likely to encounter the full complement of the Big Five, as well as a variety of antelope species.

Tsavo East is famous for its wide expanses of open savanna and large populations of elephants and buffalo. The scrubby vegetation and hillsides in the southern section of Tsavo East, especially along the rivers where animals gather to drink, are home to numerous wildlife species. This section of the park is rarely visited by tourists, offering a truly remote and untouched Tsavo safari experience.

Tsavo West boasts exceptional landscapes, from volcanic features and rocky outcrops to lava flows and sweeping grasslands. The vegetation in Tsavo West is lusher than in Tsavo East, which can make spotting animals a bit trickier. However, the lush, spring-fed oases of Tsavo West provide a unique and rewarding safari experience.
